As a Settlement Workers in Schools (SWIS) liaison, our role is to support newcomer families through collaboration with the North Shore Multicultural Society (NSMS). The relationship between North Vancouver School District and NSMS enables newcomer families to obtain information and ask questions about programs, policies, and procedures pertaining to the school district, and to seek support from school district personnel, elementary, and secondary school administrators and teachers.
