SASKATCHEWAN LAUNCHES NEW EXPERESS ENTRY FOR SKILLED IMMIGRANTS

June 23, 2015

By Canadian HR Reporter |

The Saskatchewan government has launched an improved online application system for the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP).

The online system will allow immigrants applying for permanent residence to apply to SINP streams including the new Saskatchewan Express Entry category, which was announced earlier this year.

The express entry category will add 775 additional immigrant nominees to the program, bringing the total number of nominations to 5,500 for 2015.

These applications should be processed within six months or less, according to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC).

The Saskatchewan express entry category is targeted at individuals who have post-secondary education and training in high-demand occupations in the province.

“This new category under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program will mean skilled workers immigrate faster and enter our workplaces sooner,” said provincial Immigration, Jobs, Skills and Training Minister Jeremy Harrison.

“The other benefits of Saskatchewan Express Entry include reducing application backlogs, and moving from a first-come-first-serve processing basis to nominating the most qualified and experienced individuals to contribute to our strong, diversified economy.”

The online application and more information are available onwww.economy.gov.sk.ca/immigration/express-entry or by calling 306-798-7467.
